EU-GLOBACT Research Event – 24 March 2025
On Monday 24 March – from 2.00 p.m. – the research event of the second edition of the Jean Monnet EU-GLOBACT Module “Transnational Crime and EU Law: towards Global Action against Cross-border Threats to common security, rule of law and human rights”, co-funded by the European Commission (2023-2026), will take place in the “Catania” Hall of the Fisciano / University of Salerno campus.
The research event entitled “Environmnent, Illegal Mining and Associated Crimes in International and European Legal Systems” is organized in the framework of the IECLO Multidisciplinary Legal Observatory, based at the Department of Legal Sciences of the University of Salerno and is open to the free participation of the academic community (students, postgraduates, PhD students, researchers, scholars), the legal professions, political operators, civil society in general.After the welcoming speeches of Prof. Vincenzo Loia (Rector of the University of Salerno) and Profs. Francesco Fasolino (Director of the Department of Legal Sciences) and Giuseppe D’Angelo (President of the Didactic Council of the Department of Legal Sciences), the Conference, Chaired by Prof. Anna Oriolo (Associate Professor of International Law, University of Salerno; JMM EU-GLOBACT Leader), will be opened by the introduction of Michele Nino (Full Professor of International Law, University of Salerno; JMM EU-GLOBACT Key Teacher) and will see the presentations of Prof. David Schultz (Distinguished Professor of Political Science and Legal Studies, Hamline University), of Prof. Patrizia Vigni (Associate Professor of International Law, University of Siena) and of Prof. Heybatollah Najandimanesh (Associate Professor, Allameh Tabataba’i University). This will be followed by the student papers of Francesco Foccillo (Master Graduate in Global Studies and EU, University of Salerno) and Emanuele Sorgente (Master Student in Law, University of Salerno).
